in the
third
quarter
en route
to a
52-17
win at
Michigan

UTEP
struck
first,
with
quarterback

Cheeks
on a
45-yard
touchdown
pass
just
seven
minutes
into the
game.
But that
was the
high
point
for the
Miners.
Michigan
answered
right
back and
controlled
the rest
of the
afternoon,
outscoring
UTEP
52-10
the rest
of the
way.
The
turning
point
came in
the
third
quarter,
when
Michigan
scored
on four
straight
possessions.
Running

Hiter
punched
in a
6-yard
score,
followed
by an
8-yard
rushing
touchdown
later in
the
quarter.

Michigan's
offense
was

throughout,

and

interception,
while

yards
and

ground.
UTEP's
defense
struggled
to get

field,
allowing

total
yards
and
surrendering

downs.
Michigan's
defense
was the
story on
the
other
side,
sacking
UTEP
quarterbacks
four
times,
forcing

and

off a

managed

yards
and
converted

downs on

closed
out the
scoring
for
Michigan
