  CRUCHED: Cleveland Cavaliers overwhelm Detroit Pistons in decisive Game 7 victory

DETROIT - The Cleveland Cavaliers delivered a dominant Game 7 performance, routing the Detroit Pistons 125-94 on Sunday night at Little Caesars Arena to advance in the postseason. Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert helped energize the road environment by sending roughly 25 busloads of Cleveland fans to Detroit, providing complimentary game tickets and team T-shirts.

Cleveland seized control early, taking a 31-22 lead after the first quarter and building a 17-point advantage by halftime. The Cavaliers widened the gap in the third, outscoring Detroit 35-26 to carry a 26-point lead into the fourth. The margin ballooned to as many as 35 points before Cleveland closed out the blowout in front of a sellout crowd of 20,062.

The Cavaliers shot 50.6% from the field (43-of-85), while the Pistons struggled at 35.3% (30-of-85). Cleveland went 11-of-34 from 3-point range, and Detroit finished 12-of-39. The Cavaliers controlled the glass 50-41 and dominated the paint 58-34. Detroit committed 15 turnovers, which Cleveland converted into 22 points, while the Cavaliers’ 13 turnovers led to 17 Pistons points.

Sam Merrill led Cleveland with 23 points off the bench, hitting 5-of-8 from beyond the arc. Evan Mobley recorded a double-double with 21 points, 12 rebounds, and two blocks, posting a game-high plus-minus of +31. Donovan Mitchell added 17 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and three steals in 31 minutes. Darius Garland orchestrated the offense with a game-high 10 assists, along with nine points and five rebounds. Jarrett Allen chipped in nine points and seven rebounds on efficient shooting.

For Detroit, Daniss Jenkins paced the team with 17 points, going 7-of-8 from the free-throw line. Cade Cunningham finished with 13 points, four rebounds, and four assists but shot just 5-of-16 from the field. Duncan Robinson scored 13 points off the bench, including three 3-pointers, while Caris LeVert added 11 points in 16 minutes.
