TUCSON,

Federal
and
local
investigators
continue
an
intensive
search
for
Nancy
Guthrie,
the
84-year-old
mother
of Today
show
host
Savannah
Guthrie,
who has
now been
missing
for five
days.
During a
press
conference
held on
Thursday,
February
5, 2026,
Pima
County
Sheriff
Chris
Nanos
confirmed
that
forensic
testing
has
matched
blood
found on
the
porch of
the home
to Nancy
Guthrie.
Additionally,
investigators
revealed
that her
pacemaker
disconnected
from its
monitoring
app in
the
early
morning
hours of
Sunday,
February
1,
narrowing
the
window
of her
disappearance.
The FBI
has
officially
joined
the
investigation
and is
offering
a
$50,000
reward
for
information
leading
to her
recovery
or the
arrest
of those
involved.
Special
Agent in
Charge
Heith
Janke
stated
that
federal
authorities
are
taking
reported
ransom
notes
seriously
and are
currently
reviewing
their
authenticity.
This
follows
an
emotional
video
plea
released
Wednesday
evening
by
Savannah
Guthrie
and her
siblings,
Annie
and
Camron,
in which
they
acknowledged
the
ransom
reports
and
expressed
a
willingness
to
communicate.
Savannah
emphasized
the need
for
proof of
life,
noting
the
family’s
concern
over
manipulated
media,
and
reiterated
that her
mother’s
heart
condition
makes
her
daily
medication
critical
for
survival.
Despite
the
discovery
of
forced
entry at
the
residence
and the
confirmation
of the
DNA
evidence,
authorities
have yet
to
identify
a
specific
suspect
or
person
of
interest.
Sheriff
Nanos
maintained
that
investigators
still
believe
Nancy is
"out
there"
and are
focusing
on a
criminal
investigation
rather
than a
search
for a
person
who may
have
wandered
off,
citing
her
sound
mind and
limited
mobility.
Savannah
Guthrie
remains
in
Arizona
with her
family
and has
officially
stepped
away
from her
planned
coverage
of the
2026
Winter
Olympics
to focus
entirely
on the
search.
