- The
Detroit
Pistons
won
their
second
consecutive
game
last
night in
a
112-107
victory
against
the
Toronto
Raptors
at
Little
Caesars
Arena.
A shot
clock
violation
at the
end of
the
fourth
quarter
led the
game
into
overtime
with the
score
tied,
100-100.
The
Raptors
star
player,
Kyle
Lowry,
made all
seven of
the
teams
overtime
points.
The game
tied for
the
tenth
time,107-107,
with
1:30
left in
the
game.
Andre
Drummond
and Luke
Kennard
sunk two
free
throw
shots
each,
extending
their
lead to
111-107
with six
seconds
left in
the
game.
Blake
Griffin
made the
game
winning
free
throw
point.
“We
found a
way,”
said
Pistons
coach
Dwane
Casey.
“Gritty
win.
We’re
developing
an
identity
that
we’ve
got to
have to
win big
time in
this
league.
That’s
the way
it’s
going to
be in
the
playoffs.”
The
Pistons
may have
played
aggressive
in the
last
seconds
of
overtime,
but in
the
fourth
quarter
it
appeared
to be
anyone’s
game.
They
entered
the
fourth
quarter
down two
points
and
without
Zaza
Pachulia
who was
ejected
in the
third
quarter
on a
technical
foul for
arguing
with an
official.
That
left
Casey
with no
choice
but to
play
Drummond
who was
already
in foul
trouble.
“(Pachulia)
got
pushed
in the
back
twice -
no
call,”
said
Casey.
“A man’s
going to
be a man
in those
situations.
It’s
tough.
He knows
better.
We need
him.”
With
Lowry
off the
court in
the
beginning
of the
fourth
quarter,
the
Pistons
were
able to
take the
lead six
times.
The
Pistons
led by
two with
:41 left
in the
fourth
quarter.
The
Raptors
came
back
with a
layup by
Ogugua
Anunoby
that
tied the
game and
took it
into
overtime.
Kennard
averaged
60
percent
in the
field
was five
for nine
in three
pointers
and tied
with
Reggie
Jackson
with 19
game
points.
The
Raptors
made a
33 point
jump
from the
end of
the
first
half and
ended
the
third
quarter,
78-73.
Lowry
led the
team
with 12
points
and was
the
games
top
scorer
with 35
points,
seven
rebounds
and 45.8
field
goal
percentage.
The
first
half
ended
48-45.
Griffin
scored
14
points
in the
first
quarter,
and a
game
total of
27
points
and
seven
rebounds.
The
Raptor
was
missing
Kawhi
Leonard
who was
out on
rest.
Next,
the
Pistons
play the
Minnesota
Timberwolves
Wednesday
at 7pm
in
Little
Caesars
Arena.
