A perfect day for Tiger baseball and a sample of America's Thanksgiving Parade

Detroit Tigers vs. Kansas City Royals Game to feature activities and entertainment from The Parade Company

DETROIT, MI – Thanksgiving will come early when the Detroit Tigers take on the Kansas City Royals during America’s Thanksgiving Parade® Day at Comerica Park on Wednesday, August 31 at 1:05 p.m. Along with the typical game-day activities, spectators will enjoy the one-of-a-kind magic and entertainment that only The Parade Company, producers of America’s Thanksgiving Parade®, can provide.

As the crowds of Tigers fans arrive, they will be greeted at the front of Comerica Park with an up-close view of the larger-than-life floats that make their way down Woodward Avenue each Thanksgiving morning. Inside the park, guests will enjoy parade-like excitement with activities ranging from free face painting to balloons, clowns, dancers, stilt walkers and special performances by the Mid American Pom Pon All Star Team and the Warren Cousino High School marching band. America’s Thanksgiving Parade® Queen Makayla McCoskey will help kick off the game by throwing out the ceremonial first pitch.

“The Parade Company is grateful to the Detroit Tigers for once again inviting us to share the traditions of America’s Thanksgiving Parade® with Tigers fans, young and old,” said Tony Michaels, President & CEO, The Parade Company. “Guests will be able to enjoy a combination of one of Detroit’s most cherished traditions and America’s favorite pastime – baseball.”

Fans are encouraged to arrive early, as the first 10,000 guests at the game will receive clown noses - a parade favorite. Also, be sure to keep an eye out for Parade Clowns, as they will provide laughs and entertainment throughout Comerica Park during the game.
