4 month
old
missing Detroit
infant
returned
to
father
DETROIT,
MI (Tell
Us Det)
- A
4
month-old
girl has
been
returner
to her
farther
and
grandmother
after
she went
missing
at an
emotional
custody
hearing
in
Juvenile
Court
earlier
this
week.
This is
the
latest
episode
in a
story
that
started
last
Friday
in
Dearborn
when
Damon
Daniel
and his
girlfriend
Ebony
Gaines,
the
baby's
mother,
had an
argument
that
ended
with
Damon
shooting
and
killing
Ebony.
Wayne
County
prosecutors
say
Daniel
acted in
self
defense
last
Friday
when he
shot and
killed
his
fiancée,
Ebony
Gaines,
in
Dearborn.
Tell Us
Detroit
has been
told
that
Evelyn
Daniel
appears
to be
fine,
but was
taken to
the
hospital
to get
checked
out as a
precaution.
Thursday,
Gaines'
cousin
brought
their
four-month-old
baby,
Evelyn,
to a
custody
hearing
where a
referee
granted
custody
back to
Daniel.
While he
was in
custody
the
infant
was with
Alethia
Fenderson,
one of
Ebony's
relatives.
Alethia
says she
brought
Evelyn
to court
but
things
got out
of
control
during
the
hearing.
After a
scuffle
inside
the
justice
hall --
a
security
guard
apparently
passed
off the
baby to
a
relative
when
things
ugly.
After
Evelyn
disappeared
everyone
thought
a court
officer
took her
out of
the
courtroom
for
safety.
However,
she
hasn’t
been
seen
since,
and both
sides
say they
don’t
know
what
happened
to her.
In fact,
each
side is
saying
they
think
someone
on the
other
side has
little
Evelyn.
Detroit
Police
are
investigating.
Damon
says he
wants an
Amber
Alert
issued,
but so
far that
has not
happened.
